I study the relationship between how neighborhoods change and the persistence of neighborhood inequality by race and class in U.S. cities. My current projects focus on gentrification and the recent housing crisis and draw on innovative forms of data, such as street-level imagery from Google Street View, to measure neighborhood and property characteristics. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department at Stanford University. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University in June 2015 and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Office of Population Research at Princeton University.
