INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS REQUESTING RECOMMENDATION LETTERS
- It is typically not necessary to schedule a meeting with me in order to request a letter of recommendation. Students can request a letter over email.
- Ordinarily students should request a letter only if they have performed well in a course (that is, received a grade of A or A-).
- For a first letter of recommendation, please request the letter at least three weeks before the letter is due. For additional letters of recommendation, one week's advance notice would be appreciated.
- When you request a letter, provide as all the necessary information in your email, including the due date, method of submission, submission link, and any guidelines for recommenders. Please feel free to include a copy of your application statement and resume, if relevant.
