I am a PhD Candidate in Public Policy at Harvard University, and will be graduating in May 2018. After graduating, I am founding Aastar, a philanthropy-research lab on solving social challenges at scale. Aastar will be based out of Bangalore, India, and will prioritize maternal health, women’s empowerment, and air pollution.

My research fields are development and environmental economics. In my job market paper, I implement a field experiment with public sector bus drivers in Karnataka, India. I demonstrate that training and financial incentives can improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Other work includes analyzing ethnic quotas in Indian village councils, evaluating potential particulate matter control policies for Indian industrial plants, and estimating the impact of particulate matter exposure for the

I graduated from Yale University in 2010 with a BA, cum laude, in Economics and International Studies. My husband and I currently live in Bangalore with our son.
