Ja Young Choi is a PhD student in Harvard University's Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology (SHBT). She is currently working at Communication Neuroscience Research Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Tyler Perrachione, studying how listeners process talker variability in speech perception using behavioral experiments, fMRI and tDCS.

Before starting her graduate career, Ja Young received her Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology and Linguistics from Rice University. During her undergraduate years, she worked with Dr. Tatiana Schnur and Dr. Özge Gürcanlı, which sparked her interest in cognitive neuroscience and speech.

Ja Young is a yogi and a pianist.
