Biography
I am a Ph.D. candidate in History of Science at Harvard University and a doctoral fellow with the Science, Religion, and Culture (SRC) program at Harvard Divinity School. I am the coordinator of the SRC Black, Brown and Queer Working Group and the graduate coordinator of the SRC Undergraduate Fellows Program.
My dissertation "La Panamericana: Contested Modernities and Technological Landscapes in Colombia, 1923-1988" explores how ordinary people and non-elite actors, including Afro-Colombians, indigenous communities, campesinos, and construction/maintenance workers have engaged with technology in order to advance their own political, social, and economic goals and needs. My broader focus is on the history of technology in Latin America during the 20th century; the history of sports science and technology; and the history of physics in postcolonial context.
Research Interests: history of technology; history of infrastructure; science and technology studies (STS); environmental history; science and religion; history of physics; sports history; postcolonial theory; feminist and queer theory; critical race theory; Latin American studies.
