Hi! I am a data scientist interested in bringing the tools of statistics and social science to policy, business, campaigns, and journalism. I hold a PhD in political science from Harvard University, where I studied the presidency, regulatory politics, and inter-branch relations. My dissertation used quantitative analysis, original data, and survey experiments to study the unilateral powers of the president. I've written on this topic for a general audience here. I've also worked as a bike mechanic, bicycle tour guide, pedicab driver, and rock climbing instructor. I graduated from Middlebury College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. When not working, I enjoy riding bikes, climbing mountains, and skiing down them.
