Teaching

Political Economy of Africa

Semester:

Spring

Offered:

2013

Course Description: Although there are notable exceptions, much of Sub-Saharan Africa is marked by dire poverty, the lack of democracy, and the prevalence of violent conflict. The purpose of this course is to investigate the reasons for these political and economic outcomes, with particular attention to political institutions and the role of ethnicity.

I served as a teaching fellow for this undergraduate course on Africa.  I received a rating of 4.2 of 5.0 (5.0=excellent) from my students.
