I am an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at New York University, researcher at the Centro de Estudios sobre Seguridad y Drogas (CESED) in Universidad de los Andes, Senior Consultant on Violence Against Children at the World Bank, member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for The Lancet Commission on Gender-Based Violence and Maltreatment of Young People, and co-director of the NGO Apapacho.

As an applied developmental scholar, my research lies at the intersection between developmental psychology, economics, implementation science, and public health and focuses on (1) the developmental consequences of violence against children, (2) how historical and current structural inequities shape early childhood development and parenting, (3) the design, implementation, and evaluation of violence prevention and early childhood programs and policies, and (4) the developmental consequences and promotion of resilience amid global threats like the climate crisis.

I hold a Ph.D. in Human Development, Learning, and Teaching from Harvard University, Ed.M in Human Development & Psychology from Harvard University, M.Sc. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, and a B.Sc in Economics from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
