Teach for America Corps Alumni

Teach for America is a diverse group of passionate individuals that begin a journey into ending educational inequity with a two-year teaching commitment. During that time, and for most of us, many years after that, we confront the cracks in the foundation of America's educational system. I taught math, science, and computer science to sixth graders in San Jose, California. This experience taught me many things, but the idea that guided my practice most was this: fighting inequity takes a lot of different people doing a lot of different things. My interest in educational technology is rooted in providing teachers and students with the best tools to succeed.

Leadership for Education Equity Member

Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit leadership development organization working to end the injustice of educational inequity by inspiring and supporting a diverse set of leaders with classroom experience to engage civically and politically. My work with LEE has primarly been with the Policy and Advocacy Summer Fellowship (PASF) Program. During this program, I was placed with an education non-profit focused on addressing the STEM teacher shortage. My work with LEE during the PASF furthered efforts to diversify the teacher workforce, research best practices in teacher support, and connect with likeminded partners across the US.
