Juntao Yu is a Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Danesh Moazed’s laboratory at Department of Cell Biology of Harvard Medical School and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His general research interests revolve around gene regulation and the central dogma of molecular biology. His Ph.D. thesis in Moazed Lab focuses on elucidating the mechanism of DNA replication-coupled parental histone inheritance and epigenetic inheritance using the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a model system. Moving forward, he is interested in transferring his PhD training skills to understand other molecular cellular problems such as neural circuits, cell fate decision or innate immunity.

Juntao's primary goal in biological research is to generate new ideas and knowledge on how life works by conducting creative and collaborative studies. He aims to deepen our understanding of nature and the human body, with the ultimate goal of benefiting humanity. In addition, he strongly believes in and is committed to mentoring next-generation young scientists and empowering them to contribute to the future of life sciences in the best version of themselves.

Juntao received a B.S. degree in Biology from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) with honorary rank.
