Jenny is a Ph.D. student from Purdue University working on in-situ technologies for degrading Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Currently, she is a Research Fellow at Harvard University from Summer 2015. Jenny got her Bachelor of Science on Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, Lima, Peru and her Master of Science on Environmental Toxicoly from Purdue University. She is developing and testing nanoparticles for abiotic remediation of PFAS-contaminated groundwater at military sites with minimal adverse impacts. Her research will address the reductive reaction mechanisms and pathways for defluorination of PFAS. And lastly, she will assess reductive treatment train strategies in bench and lab-scale pilot studies.
