Kathryn Gonzalez is a Ph.D. candidate in Education with a concentration in Education Policy and Program Evaluation at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also an IES PIER fellow at the Center for Education Policy Research. Her research focuses on early childhood education policy and program evaluation. Her current research examines how state policy can support quality improvement in early childhood programs at scale. Her research also examines variation in the impacts of education interventions in both early childhood and K-12 contexts, including understanding for whom and under what conditions professional development and instructional interventions are most effective.
Prior to entering graduate school, she worked as a research assistant/programmer at Mathematica Policy Research. Kathryn holds an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College.
