Quran Matters is a weekly halaqa on the explanation of the Quran. Each week, Imam Khalil Abdur-Rashid discusses a chapter and select verses from the Quran and offers explanations from various classical commentators, as well as discusses the meaning and application of the verses in today’s context. Quran Matters addresses the question of the meaning, content, and relevance of the Quran for today’s society in a secular age. It addresses the questions: what is the core message of the Quran? What guidance does it offer on what is means to be human? How do we understand the spiritual, individual, social, economic, political, and controversial topics of the Quran? And to what extent does the translation of the Arabic text affect our understanding of matters in the Quran? Join us weekly for Quran Matters!
