Mark A. Kishlansky is the Frank Baird Jr. Professor of History. His research focuses on the history of Early Modern Britain and on the history of politics and political thought. Professor Kishlansky teaches courses on English social history and the English Revolution. He is the author of The Rise of the New Model Army (1979), and Parliamentary Selection (1986). He has edited Early Modern Europe: The Crises of Authority; Political Cultural and Cultural Politics in Early Modern England (1995); Sources of the West (1991); and Sources of World History (1994). He has co-authored Society and Culture in World History (1994), and Civilization in the West (1998). His most recent book is A Monarchy Transformed 1603-1714, (1996) the volume on 17th-century Britain for the New Penguin History of Britain.
