I am a PhD candidate in Sociology & Social Policy at Harvard University and also a doctoral fellow in the Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality and Social Policy.
I study inequality and social stratification with a focus on children, families, and neighborhoods. In my dissertation, I draw on national survey data to examine children’s exposure to important changes in their families, households, and neighborhoods and estimate the long-term effects of these changes on children’s adolescent and young adult outcomes. In particular, I focus on variation in the prevalence and consequences of these changes by racial/ethnic group. In other research I consider the neighborhood contexts of child and adolescent development, the co-occurrence of housing and household instability, and the consequences of housing policies for individuals and neighborhoods.
