Welcome to /underground, an original Black CAST musical! Maxine, the highly intelligent, powerfully competent owner of the high-end nightclub, /underground, is the "mob boss" of a complex criminal organization. Maxine's needs come first—above politics, sex, men, and the law—and she is willing to do anything to assert herself and fulfill those needs. This studen-written and directed musical highlights the cross-generational perseverance of the Black mind while presenting the audience with a new outlook on Black hyper-intelligence, reveling in a Black woman protagonist taking the law into her own hands. Join us for a riveting and exciting performance!
