Laura Blattner is a Ph.D. candidate in the Political Economy and Government program at Harvard University. Her research interests are banking, corporate finance and macroeconomics. She is currently working with novel micro-level data on financial intermediaries and their lending structures at the Bank of Portugal.
Laura Blattner earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) and a Master of Philosophy in Economics at the University of Oxford (Nuffield College). Prior to her PhD, she completed a six-month internship at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. She was awarded the ERP fellowship of the German National Merit Foundation for the first two years of her PhD. Laura is a 2016 fellowship recipient of the Macro Financial Modeling Initiative and a 2017 recipient of the ECB's Lamfalussy Fellowship.
