Laura received a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University and will soon join the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College as a Research Economist. Her interests include personnel economics, labor demand, and collective bargaining – particularly in the U.S. public sector – as well as pension finance and retirement saving.
Recent research explores how de-unionization affects teachers and students, investigates how school administrators and parents react to statutory caps on property taxes, and asks whether defined-benefit pension plans reduce turnover in the civil service.
Laura served as a Research Associate at the CRR at Boston College, where she studied state and local pension plans in the United States. Laura holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College (2009) and a Diplôme du programme international from Sciences Po in Paris (2008).
