Lucia C. Petito is a postdoctoral research fellow in Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, working with Professor Miguel Hernán in the HSPH Program on Causal Inference. Before arriving at Harvard, she completed her doctorate in Biostatistics at the University of California, Berkeley working with Professor Nicholas P. Jewell. Lucia’s research interests include:
- Survival analysis
- Causal inference from observational, longitudinal, and real-world data
- Applications of statistical techniques in epidemiological research, including cancer (risk screening, chemotherapy effectiveness), perinatal epidemiology, social determinants of health
Dr. Petito also holds a bachelor of science in Mathematics from the University of Rochester, and a bachelor of music in Violin Performance from the Eastman School of Music. She is an avid classical musician in her spare time.
