Teaching and mentoring have been long-standing interests of mine. In high school I picked up tutoring and teacher's assistant jobs, which eventually led me to work as a peer tutor at the University of Cincinnati's Learning Commons throughout college.

My interest in teaching crossed into theoretical territory as I began to learn about inclusive pedagogy and designing equitable learning spaces. In particular I am interested in best practices for creating active learning environments, promoting content mastery to mitigate test-anxiety, and closing racial and gender achievement gaps by teaching from a growth mindset perspective.
