Matteo Maggiori is an Associate Professor of Economics at Harvard University. His research focuses on international macroeconomics and finance. His research topics have included the analysis of exchange rate dynamics, global capital flows, the international financial system, tax havens, bubbles, expectations, and very long-run discount rates. He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research.
He is a receipient of the 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation (CAREER grant), selected for the 2012 Review of Economic Studies May Meetings (European Tour), and won the 2013 and 2018 AQR Insight Award, and the 2017 AQR Young Researcher Award.
He received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.
