Current Position: Computer science Major at UC-Berkley

Jerry's a visiting summer student from UC Berkeley, doing research relating to TB genomics/transcriptomics during Summer 2019. He looked into the feasibility of large scale eQTL meta-analyses of MTB using publicly available RNAseq data, as well as the ability to reliably call variants only from said RNAseq data. Ultimately, this work aims to be able to use the large datasets found at the NCBI's SRA (Short Read Archive) to make broad connections between genotypic features and their effects on the transcriptome in MTB, further facilitating research into specific mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in the organism.
