Yasha is a PhD student in the BIG Program interested in studying the intersection of machine learning and infectious disease. Specifically using machine learning to leverage the wealth of data being generated by whole genome sequencing technologies. With this in mind, he is also co-advised by Marinka Zitnik and together, Maha, Marinka, and Yasha are developing novel machine learning models to empower the next generation of infectious disease research. Outside of work, he is a CA native and enjoys running, writing music, and exploring Boston!
