WELCOME

Hello! My name is Maria Mendoza and I'm a junior in Quincy House studying Government. Outside of peer counseling for the Government concentration, I staff conferences in Asia, Europe, Boston, and San Francisco through Harvard Model Congress and lead a group of students tutoring Harvard employees in preparation for the citizenship exam at the Institute of Politics. I also compete and serve as program captain on the Harvard Mock Trial Team, which consistently ranks at the national level. I'm also involved with the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and while in high school, I participated in the U.S. Senate Youth Program. At home, I love cooking Cuban food, going into New York City, and watching Zootopia with my little brother, Lucas.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the concentration. I remember weighing all my options and finally deciding upon Government, and I'm happy to help you make your decision. Further, I'm always happy to discuss government-related activities at Harvard, summer opportunities, and my own experience interning for a Congressman and a Senator. The Government concentration at Harvard offers so many opportunities for growth and discovery, and I look forward to discussing them with prospective students and concentrators!
