Research

I am interested in biomaterials, drug delivery, and tissue engineering. My thesis has focused on developing new biomaterials for the treatment of brain aneurysms. In general, I am interested in designing smart, stimuli sensitive biomaterials for tissue engineering and drug delivery. I have explored various avenues of achieving this goal: compuational fluid dynamics, 3D scaffolds, and hydrogel-based techniques. In addition, I have investigated cellular microenvironments to attempt to elucidate the underlying factors behind ECM cues and gene expression profiles. As a whole, I am determined to find ways of solving complex problems in order to discover new therapies for cardiovascular disease.
