I'm from Malta - a small, sunny European island in the Mediterranean. After finishing my BS in electrical engineering at the University of Malta, I moved to the University of Sheffield, where I did an MS sontrol systems and a PhD in robotics and computational intelligence. I was part of the Natural Robotics Lab led by Dr. Roderich Groß. During my PhD I I worked mainly on minimal information processing in collective robotic systems, showing how interesting problems can be solved by robots without memory and computation. I am currently a Technology Development Fellow at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, and part of Prof. Radhika Nagpal's Self-Organized Systems Research Group. I am developing new collective robotics algorithms on the Kilobot platform, as well developing a new platform for underwater collective robotics.
