Biography

I am a fourth-year doctoral student in Jewish Studies at Harvard. My research focuses on the development of modern Jewish militancy as evinced by the history of Jewish self-defense in Russia and Mandatory Palestine. More broadly, I am interested in the role violence played in shaping the relationships between Jews and non-Jews in colonial contexts, and the transplantation of Jewish experiences with violence and resistance from the Pale to Palestine. Other research interests include masculinity, ethnic violence, nationalism, and Hungarian Jewish history.
