ES51 is the first course in the design and construction of mechanical and electromechanical devices. Topics covered include engineering graphics and sketching; dimensions and tolerances; machine elements and two-dimensional mechanisms; DC motors; design methodology with an emphasis on laboratory work and design projects using professional solid modeling CAD software and numerically controlled machine tools. With your help, this course will be a great learning experience, exposing you to interesting material, challenging you to think deeply, and providing you with skills useful for professional practice.
