Throughout my undergraduate and graduate student life, I have met many great teachers and mentors who shaped my way of thinking. This made me realize how powerful a teacher's impact is and inspired me to be a good teacher myself. Some of my noteable pedagogy experiences are:
- Pedagogy Fellow at SEAS, Harvard (2017-2018)
As a pedagogy fellow, I organized training of the new teaching fellows of SEAS by leading microteaching sessions, video consultations, classroom observations, and workshops. This experience inspired me to develop a habit of looking at pedagogy from a critical lens, measuring efficacy of everything a teacher does inside and outside of classroom, and constantly coming up with innovative strategies to interact with students.
- SEAS teaching practicum and pedagogy journal club
I worked as a co-instructor of the SEAS Teaching Practicum (Fall 2017, Fall 2018) and led a pedagogy journal club. As a part of that, I learned and led disucsions on topics related to current pedagogy research, such as active learning, inclusive teaching, concept inventories, k-12 education worldwide, universal design for learning, and so on.
- Summer school instructor
This upcoming summer 2019, I will be an instructor at the Pre-college Program in Harvard summer school. I am designing an introductory soft materials course for high school students- "All things squishy: Physics of soft materials".
- Teaching, tutoring, and mentoring
In harvard, I worked as a teaching fellow of ES 177/277 (Microfabrication laboratory), was a tutor at the Harvard summer school, and mentored research of undergraduate and graduate students.
