HalloweenI am a postdoctoral research associate in the Aizenberg Biomineralization and Biomimetics Lab at Harvard University, Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Previously, I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Mahadevan Lab at Harvard SEAS. I am an applied mathematician and theoretical & computational physicist trained in a broad array of areas, including materials science, elasticity, fluid mechanics, chemical physics, liquid crystals, statistical physics.

I did my graduate studies in the Department of Physics at Brandeis University under the supervision of Prof. Robert Meyer between 2008-2012. For my PhD, I focused on the modeling of colloidal membranes composed of hard rods. Before coming to the United States, I completed my undergraduate studies in Physics Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, and earned a Masters degree in Physics from Koç University, Turkey, supervised by Prof. Nihat Berker. There, I primarily worked on the statistical mechanics of spin systems.
