I received my Ph.D. in Korean Medicine in 2018 from Dongguk University, Republic of Korea. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (MGH/HMS, Boston, MA) and a senior researcher at Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM, Republic of Korea). My projects from PhD and KIOM mainly focused on exploring how integrative medicine affect the gut microbial community and lead to predisposition towards various diseases. While doing research on gut microbiome in functional gastrointestinal disorders, my interest shifted to the field of gut-brain axis. By joining the Napadow Lab, I hope to expand my research in understanding the bidirectional interactions between the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. Outside of research, I enjoy sports such as skiing, surfing and hiking, or spend time doing leather crafts.
