Back to Life, Back to Reality

In the middle of lecture today, during which we were discussing whether one could live a good life in virtual reality, we left the confines of the classroom to continue our discussion outdoors.

Some folks proceeded to remove their shoes and sandals to feel the soft, green grass beneath their bare feet. We stood out there contemplating whether being in nature meant we were disconnecting from the real world, or whether we were in fact reconnecting with it.

I guess the answer depends on which pill you swallowed: red pill or blue pill? Next time, we will consider whether our existence here is real, or if we are just actually living in a computer simulation.
