Living in a bubble
Having not owned a television for many years now, using the Internet as my primary source of information, makes it easy for me to curate the content upon which I feed daily, tuning out most news broadcasts.
I have kept myself blissfully ignorant of current events and the many atrocities that happen outside of my little bubble every single day.
Now we have reached the point in the semester in which my critical reading and research will include foreign relations, human rights, terrorism, and social responsibility.
It’s easy to feel detached and unaffected by it all until you realize and remember that we all live on the same “mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”
