REPL. with nodata:

DT<20 (is 15 km/s) or DT>1000 (is 300m/s but only in well UOCNU_63 with DT>4000)  -> no data

- transferred all cleaned logs to single curve

- defined regions in curve for Quarternary and Tertiary

- converted to Vp: vp[m/s]=0.3048*1e6/DT[micro-s/ft]

- has max vel. of 431km/s in 3457316 samples ; cut off vp > 15 km/s: 3457278 left, removed 38 samples in 6920064 (outside of basin)

- 6920064 has low average DT; mean is 58; checked tif: is that low below 4300 ft MD, in two runs, ok

Basin thicknesses

- mapped etopo elevation to wells curve: Z_etopo

- mapped base Quarternary elevation (baseQ_Scheirer) to wells curve: Z_baseQ

- mapped base Tertiary elevation (San_Joaquin_base_Tertiary_faulted_5) to wells curve: Z_baseT

- calculate thicknesses: Tbasin = Z_baseT - Z_etopo; Qbasin = Z_baseQ - Z_etopo

Thickness dependance

- 3d plot: vp-md-thickness for Tertiary: shows little dependance on thickness

- fit vp surface to md-thickness: very smooth fit shows little dependance on thickness down to at least 3.5 km/s; at highest vp around 5km/s the few wells show some effect.

10m and 50m median filter to vp at wells

since medians reach outside of data range, restrict back to range
