Dr. Gao specializes in the care of general surgery, off-site and neurosurgical patients. He currently conducts research as part of the Harvard Anesthesia T-32 program at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a faculty member of the Medical Biodynamics Program. His research is aimed to improve the early detection and treatment of poor outcomes in the perioperative period (e.g., delirium and post-operative cognitive dysfunction) through integrating cross-disciplinary approaches.
