Preeya Pandya Mbekeani is an advanced doctoral student in Quantitative Policy Analysis in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a doctoral fellow in the Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality and Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Her research focuses on education policy and inequality related to college access and success of first-generation and low-income students. Her research has been published in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis and AERA Open.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, she worked at the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She spent five years as a teacher-counselor in a college access program for low-income youth and three years as a French teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago.
