Dr. Georgios Polychronidis is currently a Research Associatein the Department of Epidemiology in the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Research Fellow in the Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Unit of the Massachusetts' General Hospital. He is mentored by Dr. Mingyang Song and Dr. Albert Hofman. He graduated from the University of Ioannina Medical School and after joining the Heidelberg Transplantation Center for a research fellowship he completed his general surgery residency at the Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery at the University Hospital Heidelberg. During his training he was a research scientist at the Study Center of the German Surgical Society and studied clinical trial management at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences. His research is mainly focused on evidence-based surgery and liver disease. Dr. Polychronidis has been awarded a research fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG) to investigate the link between liver disease and colorectal neoplasia.
