Bio

Originally from New Jersey, I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Sociology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I was driven to study child psychology by the problems I witnessed throughout my life pertaining to youth mental health.  Too often, children dealing with mental illness are overlooked and suffer in silence.  Those whose problems are noticed are given harmful labels like "attention seeker" or outright called "bad" children. While my research is focused on identifying factors that predict youth therapy outcomes, my utlimate goal is to increase awareness of childhood mental health problems including how they present and which interventions are likely to help.  Increasing recognition of these problems and the appropriate response can help children, their families, and schools function more effectively.
