xyjkDr. Rohan Bir Singh is an Ocular/Corneal Immunology Research Fellow pursuing clinical and basic science research under the mentorship of renowned ocular immunologist Dr.Reza Dana, MD MSc MPH, Claes H. Dohlman Chair of Ophthalmology, at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Singh is pursuing his PhD in ocular immunology at the Department of Ophthalmology, Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands under the supervision of Dr. Dana and Dr. Martine J. Jager, Professor of Ophthalmology. He received his MD degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh. During medical school he interned with the Department of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was also a summer research intern at the Lions Low Vision Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. img

His research focuses on the prevalance and pathogenesis of ocular graft-versus-host-disease in patients after bone marrow transplantation, factors modulating immunopathogenesis of acute and chronic dry eye disease and epidemology of corneal disorders in the United States. He has extensively published his research in top ophthalmology journals and presented his basic science as well as clinical research at Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, the Harvard Biennial Cornea Conference, American Society of Retina Specialists Annual Meeting, Cornea Society, and New England Ophthalmological Society. He also holds several leadership positions including the Vice Chair of Harvard Medical Postdoc Association, considered to the be the largest body of postdoctoral fellows in the United States. 

Dr. Singh was selected for the prestigious ARVO Science Communication Training Fellowship, class of 2020-21. He is involved in the medical and undergraduate student education and is a part of the author panel for First Aid for USMLE Step 1, a textbook resource widely considered to be the "Bible for Medical Students" for board exam preparation. He also mentors high school students through the Skype-A-Scientist program. Dr.Singh runs a charity organization, International Vision Survey, which has raised funds for eye examinations, mediciations and surgeries for over 973 non-affording patients in Punjab, India. He founded Ophthopedia, which is an ophthalmology research and news aggregating platform for web and social media platforms. He is an avid Seattle Seahawks fan (tough living in New England!), and loves to cook and do aerial photography during his free time.
