This research forum is a unique opportunity to share knowledge and good practice from the collective experience of conducting public health research in humanitarian crises. The key discussion themes this year were:
– Equity and inclusion
– Research methodologies
– Research ethics
– Research impact

Dr Rana shared her experience as a scientist and practionar in the NGO world:
1. It is not enough to have diverse people at the table there must be equality at the table as well
2. The ones served must be involved in the design of programs because they better understand the root cause and how to ensure sustainability. Scientists from the LIMIC should be involved in research because they better understand the culture and context to analyses and interpret the data as well as in choosing and adapting the measurement tools.
3. Engaging the subjects we study by explain the science and sharing of the results to raise awareness and foster agency to build resilience. People are smart.
