Sara Zaia obtained her Ph.D. in Archaeology in the Anthropology Department. presenting a dissertation about long-distance trade between Pharaonic Egypt and Eastern Africa through geospatial analyses. More broadly she investigate the relationship between people and landscapes, examining people’s migrations across land and sea. Her research interest is in understanding people’s interaction with familiar and foreign landscapes. She has deep knowledge of geospatial techniques, including remote sensing, GIS, and photogrammetry. A few years ago she became interested in Archaeogaming, particularly in recording evidence of human activities in digital spaces.
