I am a PhD candidate in education policy and program evaluation at Harvard University. Prior to the PhD, I earned my MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School. I previously worked in education policy at the Center for American Progress and at the U.S. Department of Education under the Obama Administration.
My research examines how various amenities affect parent and student human capital decisions. I use causal inference and descriptive methods to explore how factors within (e.g., institutional) and outside (e.g., regional, labor market) the education system affect where and what students study in K-12 and higher education. Much of my work leverages policy-level changes at the district, state, and federal level. By leveraging shocks to different regulatory environments, I estimate how various policies internal and external to education affect schooling choices.
