Shirin is a Ph.D. student concentrating in Education Policy and Program Evaluation and a PIER Fellow at the Center for Education Policy Research. Her research interests include educational technology, teacher labor markets, accountability systems, and the economics of education.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Shirin led research and analytics at Zearn, a mathematics curriculum provider. She also previously worked at the New York City Department of Education and NERA Economic Consulting. Shirin holds a B.S. in Economics from MIT and an M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University.
