2023

  • I joined the Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics at Northwestern Univesity as a postdoctoral scholar in September!
  • I accepted the offer from the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and will join as an Assistant Professor in August 2024!
  • Our work entitled 'A compact dielectric-elastomer-actuator-based soft peristaltic pump for power and control of fluidic robots' was published in Science Robotics! The paper is featured on the Harvard SEAS News:

  •  We presented our work 'Controlling soft fluidic actuators using soft DEA-based valves' is presented at the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2022) (online)!
  •  Our collaboration work on the highly agile and collision resilient insect-scale aerial robot was selected as the recipient of the 2021 IEEE Transactions on Robotics King-Sun Fu Memorial Best Paper Award! 
  •  Our work entitled 'Controlling soft fluidic actuators using soft DEA-based valves' was accepted to IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)!
  • I successfully defended my PhD thesis! Thesis title: 'Sensing, Actuation, and Control of Soft Fluid-driven Robots by Liquid-elastomer Composite Sensors and Dielectric Elastomer Actuators'.

2021

  • I attended the MRS Fall 2021 'Meet the New Faculty Candidates - A Hybrid Event' on Dec 1st (in-person)!
  • I'm honored to be selected as the Rising Star 2021 in Mechanical Engineering! The workshop will be held at MIT OCT 28-29th. 
  • Our work on a dynamic electrically driven soft valve for control of soft hydraulic actuators is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The paper is featured on the Harvard SEAS News:
