About
Sarah Loomis is a PhD Student in the Harvard University's Archaeology Program. Her current research focuses on the site of Los Guachimontones in Jalisco, Mexico. The site was the center of the regional Teuchitlan Tradition during Mesoamerica's Classic period (~200-900 CE). Her research uses figurine analysis and upcoming household excavation to examine gender roles in ancient Teuchitlan and how gendered activities were spatially distributed at the site of Los Guachimontones. Sarah also conducts research on gender, identity, ceramics, osteology, mortuary practices, and 3D technology. She has been a Teaching Fellow for SW 30: Moctezuma's Mexico and SW 38: Pyramid Schemes.
