Dr. Valeriya Kozlovskaya
Founder and Director of Studio Bilingua
Dr. Valeriya Kozlovskaya, a native speaker ofRussian, received her Ph.D. in Classical and Near Eastern Archeology from Bryn Mawr College. She also holds her M.A. in German Studies from St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University (Russia). Dr. Kozlovsakya is a Founder and Director of Studio Bilingua, which offers Russian language courses to heritage speakers of Russian (age 8-13), as well as content-based courses on Russian History of 20th century through Children’s books, Creative writing (fairy tales), Experiential Learning Practicum: Childhood 65-80 (a project based on interviewing students’ parents and writing down stories of their childhoods in Russia). Dr. Kozlovskaya developed and taught content-based Russian courses on Greek and Latin Roots in Russian, Russian Poetry for Kids, Ancient Heroes in the Modern World and Russian Folklore and Traditional Handcrafts at the Russian Center for Languages and Arts in Boston. Dr. Kozlovskaya attended Teacher Professional Development Workshops Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 2011-2013. In the summer of 2017, Dr. Kozlovskaya successfully ran the Editorial Room Project at STARTALK: Bridges to Russia at Harvard University Program.
