Tania Schlatter head shotI am a design strategist, researcher, educator and author, equally interested in content, form and people. I lead UX & UI work at IQSS, helping to design products everyone can use to compute, analyze, and share data. Outside of IQSS, I teach interaction and information design classes and advise graduate students at Northeastern University.

Previously I led the UX firm Nimble Partners and co-wrote the book “Visual Usability, Principles and Practices for Designing Digital Applications”, with my business partner. We provided services to departments at MIT, Harvard University, Tufts University, and software product companies BurningGlass (now Emsi) and Endeca (now Oracle), as well as ecommerce organizations Umbra.com and CafePress.com. I studied human-centered communication design at the Institute of Design in Chicago (MDes); graphic design in Brissago, Switzerland with Paul Rand and Armin Hofmann through the Yale University summer program; and majored in graphic design at Boston University (BFA).
