Terry K. Aladjem is a Lecturer on Social Studies, the honors program at Harvard College, and teaches a course on Law and American Society. He is a recipient of the Stanley Hoffmann Prize for Excellence in Teaching in Social Studies (2007), and of the Star Family Prize for Excellence in (Faculty) Advising at Harvard College (2015). Terry’s doctorate is in political theory and his book, The Culture of Vengeance and the Fate of American Justice, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2008 (see reader's remarks on publications page).
Terry is also a Senior Contributor at the Harvard University Global Health Education and Learning Incubator. He has served as the Executive Director of the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard (2010-15) where he led the Blended Learning Support Team for faculty engaged in teaching innovations using online and multimedia sources, piloted the seminar on Designing the Courses of the Future for graduate students, and oversaw training for Teaching Fellows in the sciences, social sciences and humanities. Terry was a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Warwick UK in July, 2014. He runs a summer program on Teaching Excellence for faculty at University College Roosevelt in the Netherlands with Dutch colleagues and recently spoke at the University of Amsterdam on the aims of interdisciplinary teaching and learning.
