I studied Psychology (Diplom 2003, Leipzig University, Germany) and Computer Science (Ph. D. 2011, supervisor: Jürgen Jost, Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences). As a member of the research group "Complex Structures in Biology and Cognition" at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, I focussed on methodology in visual neuroscience and psychophysics. In 2011, I joined the laboratory of Peter Bex at Schepens Eye Research Institute, where I started to investigate ophthalmic diseases, such as Glaucoma, by psychophysical and bioinformatical methods. In 2013, I became an Instructor in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School.
