MRI-Based Ablation Monitoring

Real-time monitoring of ablation margin is critical for safe and effective ablation therapies. I have been collaborating with scientific and clinical collaborators to develop imaging and software technologies to delineate the ablation zone and quantify the ablation margin including 1) software to record ablation zones for MR-guided microwave coagulation of liver tumor (a); 2) new temperature-sensitive MR imaging techniques for monitoring of cryoablations (b); 3) a new computational method for 3-dimensional quantitative assessment of ablation margins based on the distance map (c).
